So Good Together

Tellement bien ensemble, by Emilie Vast

In the wild some animals live peacefully with one another, meaning they need each other. For example, the little clown fish chooses one anemone for life.

The anemone’s venom doesn’t harm him but actually protects him from predators. The clown fish returns the favor by protecting the anemone. The goby, thanks to his excellent eyesight, keeps watch for the pistol shrimp, which provides him with shelter in return. The plover is the best crocodile dentist when it feeds from its teeth. Such odd and fascinating buddies! But what about the two of us, don’t you think we look a bit like them?
