Zebedee and the Rain

Zébulon et la pluie, by Alice Brière-Haquet, illustrated by Olivier Philipponneau & Raphaële Enjary

Zebedee is hiding under his umbrella. But where is all this water that is running on his back coming from? He’s decided, he is going to cut off the supply! But the other animals do not quite agree with him: the beetle eats the grass which grows thanks to the rain, the tadpole wouldn’t know where to swim if water didn’t exist and the whale says that nothing can replace the sea water when evaporated. And here is Zebedee, booed by the other animals, who all find something to throw at him: sand, mud or even worse!

After having followed the whole water cycle, Zebedee, who is getting dirtier, might also find an interest to water…
