Le mystère de l’eucalyptus, by Paul Cox
On Rastepappe Island, the koalas from Koalatown and the badgers from Badgertown live peacefully and enjoy each other’s company. Koalatown inhabitants love to go to the opera and listen to Badgerossini, the same way Badgertown inhabitants enjoy a nice eucalyptus meal in chef Archiparmentier’s restaurant.
But soon something strange happens on the island. The precious eucalypti in Koalatown have been deteriorating. The well-being of the town and of its inhabitants is in danger. The famous detective Archibald is asked to solve the mystery. The badgers from Badgertown are undoubtedly the perfect suspects but are they to blame for such a situation?
This book is the first of the tetralogy first published at the end of the 1980s. With its atmosphere that reminds us of Babar and Hercule Poirot, it’s a must-read!
