Granny Cherry and the Thieving Magpie’s Treasure

Madame Cerise et le trésor des pies voleuses, by Sandra Poirot Cherif

Granny Cherry tends to forget a lot of things, but Grandpa Cherry is going to make sure she remembers the most important.

Granny Cherry’s memory has been failing her for a while. There she is, sitting on a bench with a pizza box on her knees. She went grocery shopping, but now she can’t find her car keys. How should she get back home?

When she finally finds her way back, Grandpa Cherry is relieved. Even if he gets mad sometimes because his wife is getting “cuckoo”, he lovingly accompanies her on this last and chaotic part of their life together. What if Granny Cherry becomes so sick that she can’t recognize her family anymore? Grandpa Cherry refuses to lose hope.
